The Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department is set to host grand festivals in Shamli and Jaunpur, celebrating the state’s rich art, culture, and heritage. According to an official statement, the Shamli Mahotsav will take place from March 7 to 10, followed by the Jaunpur Mahotsav from March 10 to 12.
Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh emphasised that these festivals will showcase cultural performances, local handicrafts, and culinary delights, promoting Uttar Pradesh as a premier tourism destination. The state continues to attract domestic and international visitors with its spiritual, religious, and natural attractions.
The Shamli Mahotsav, hosted at VV PG College grounds, will offer a mix of entertainment, games, and cultural programs. Special highlights include performances by school children, a laser show, and a poetry symposium. The event aims to provide an immersive experience celebrating the region’s traditions.
Jaunpur Mahotsav will take place at the historic Shahi Fort, with final preparations in full swing. The festival will feature cultural programs, poetry recitations, mass weddings, and exclusive activities designed to engage tourists while highlighting Jaunpur’s historical significance.
With these festivals, Uttar Pradesh aims to strengthen its position as a cultural hub, preserving and promoting its artistic and culinary heritage while boosting tourism and local businesses.
