The Centre-run Alliance Air on Thursday launched a flight between Dibrugarh in Assam and Tezu in Arunachal Pradesh using its Dornier 228 aircraft, a statement said. The 17-seater aircraft, which has been made in India, will be used to operate the flights on the Dibrugarh-Tezu route thrice per week, the airline’s statement noted. While 80 per cent of work for the new airport at Abdullapuram along the Chennai-Bengaluru National Highway is complete, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) still needs 10.72 acres of private land for the project. The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corp Ltd’s (IRCTC) net profit in the March quarter doubled on year to INR 2.14 billion, and revenue surged twofold to INR 6.91 billion. Sequentially, the net profit rose 2.4% and revenue rose 27.9%. The company’s other income rose to INR 258.33 million from INR 194.65 million year ago.
