Near to normalcy in airline operations due to the waning impact of the pandemic resulted in a sequential growth of ~37% in domestic air passenger traffic to ~106 lakh in March 2022 compared to ~77 lakh in February 2022, and YoY growth of ~35% compared to ~78 lakh in March 2021. A total of 204 climbers from 42 countries, including 15 from India, have acquired the permission to scale Mount Everest this season, Nepal’s Department of Tourism said on Saturday. India’s foreign exchange reserves fell by USD 11.17 billion for the week ending April 1 – the sharpest ever weekly drop – to settle at USD 606.475 billion, PTI reported Saturday citing Reserve Bank of India data. The fall has been attributed to pressure on the Indian rupee as a result of the conflict in Ukraine, the continuing impact of the Covid pandemic, and other geopolitical developments.
