IndiGo started six domestic flights connecting Indore to Allahabad, Jodhpur and Surat on October 31. The flights, virtually flagged off by Jyotiraditya Scindia, Civil Aviation Minister, will operate daily, according to a statement. Sanjay Kumar, chief strategy and revenue officer of IndiGo, said, “Direct connectivity from Indore, the largest city in Madhya Pradesh, to the political, tourist and business centres of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Gujarat, will cater to the regional travel demand while promoting trade, tourism, and mobility.” Overall, IndiGo operates 604 weekly flights from Madhya Pradesh.

Australia recognised Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin for travel to the country as it eases border curbs. Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), Australia’s regulatory authority for therapeutic goods such as medicines, medical devices, and diagnostic tests, in a statement said it has determined that Covaxin and BBIBP-CorV (manufactured by Sinopharm, China) vaccines will be “recognised” for the purpose of establishing a traveller’s vaccination status. “This recognition is for travellers aged 12 and over who have been vaccinated with Covaxin, and those 18 to 60 who have been vaccinated with BBIBP-CorV. The government of Oman on October 27 added Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin to the approved list of Covid vaccines for travel to the country. All passengers from India who have received two doses of Covaxin at-least 14 days before the estimated arrival date will now be able to travel to Oman without the requirement of quarantine. However, all other Covid related requirements/conditions, such as pre-arrival RT-PCR test shall be applicable for such passengers. The approval will significantly ease travel to Oman for Indians who have taken Covaxin. Passengers who have taken AstraZeneca/Covishield are already permitted to travel to Oman without quarantine.
