According to a report by The Hindustan Times, the Canadian government has removed its global travel advisory on all non-essential travel outside the country. The caution had been in place since the spring of 2020 as the Covid-19 pandemic first spread internationally and into Canada. Qantas, the Australian carrier, will start non-stop services to India after a decade. From December 6, Qantas will have three-weekly flights between Delhi-Sydney. The airline will use its Airbus A330, which will become a daily flight by the end of the year. “This is subject to discussions with Indian authorities to finalise necessary approvals. The government is unlikely to lift the restrictions on international flights immediately, a senior civil aviation ministry official has indicated, saying current frequencies under air bubble arrangements are adequate to meet the demand. Scheduled international passenger flights to and from India remain suspended since March last year amid the coronavirus pandemic.
