Tata Sons has won the bid to acquire national carrier Air India today. The salt-to-software conglomerate placed a winning bid of INR 18,000 crore re-acquire the airline more than half a century after it ceded control to the government. In a bid to relax travel restrictions for foreigners into the country the Indian government has decided to grant fresh tourist visas from October, the Ministry of Home Affairs said in a statement on October 7. Foreign tourists coming into India on charter flights will be given fresh tourists visas by the government from 15 October, the statement said. Inmarsat, unveiled the Asia Pacific (APAC) findings of its Passenger Confidence Tracker 2021.The research reveals that 91% of APAC airline passengers acknowledged that the pandemic has changed their long-term travel habits, consistent with last year’s survey results.
