The Centre has decided to revive the Sree Narayana Guru pilgrimage circuit, also known as the Sivagiri pilgrimage, due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s affinity to the teachings of the sage, Union Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan said. Muraleedharan said, in a release, that this is the only project that has been revived after it was cancelled under the Swadesh Darshan scheme by the Union Ministry of Tourism. The government has denied media reports that Tata Group has won the bid for the debt-laden Air India. Tata Sons has won the final bid for acquiring national carrier Air India, according to government sources. The salt-to-software conglomerate had submitted the final bid for the airline on September 15 and emerged as the frontrunner to acquire the airline. India will have to look at the hub and spoke model to fly more passengers from and into the country, civil aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said. Speaking at PHDCCI annual general meeting on September 30, Scindia said the aim should be to make India a robust aviation hub, which will enable more passengers to fly from here to different parts of the world and vice versa. “We have to look at putting in place systems that allow connectivity on long haul travel, to places like Europe, where we currently have one or two airlines flying to such destinations,” Scindia said.…
The Transport Department of kerala has agreed in-principle to slash vehicle tax on tourist caravans to one-fourth, considering the potential of caravan tourism in revving up tourism and employment in Kerala.
