Air Astana marks 20 years of connecting Kazakhstan and India by introducing a new Almaty-Mumbai route, set to launch on April 20, 2025. The airline, which first entered the Indian market in 2004, has steadily grown its presence, currently operating nine weekly flights between Almaty and Delhi, with increased frequencies during peak seasons.
The new Mumbai service will operate thrice weekly—on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays—using Airbus family aircraft. The inaugural flight from Almaty will depart at 04:30, reaching Mumbai at 09:55, while the return leg will depart Mumbai at 11:00, arriving in Almaty at 14:45. The outbound flight duration is 4 hours 50 minutes, with the return taking 4 hours 20 minutes.
Economy class return fares, inclusive of taxes, start at USD 406, while Business class fares start at USD 1,136. The airline aims to offer premium service and seamless connectivity between the commercial hubs of both nations.
“With the Indian economy growing strongly, Air Astana is delighted to launch services to Mumbai, a vibrant and flourishing metropolis driven by trade, finance, and enterprise. Business and leisure travellers will now be able to experience the excellence of Air Astana’s in-services when flying between Kazakhstan’s and India’s most commercial cities,” said Peter Foster, Chief Executive at Air Astana.
