Atlys, a digital visa services provider, has expanded into the UK market by acquiring Artionis, a UK-based visa services company, in an all-cash deal. This acquisition adds 40 specialists to Atlys’ team, operating across offices in London, Manchester, and Edinburgh.
Atlys plans to double its UK headcount to 80 employees by the end of the year to better serve a diverse traveller base in the UK, where 36% of the population either hold non-UK passports or prefer self-service visa solutions.
Artionis is known for its exclusive rights in processing UK-to-Russia visas, an area requiring precision and specialised expertise. By integrating Artionis’ capabilities, Atlys aims to digitize traditional processes, reduce redundant paperwork, provide accurate approval timelines with refund guarantees, and cut the typical application time to under five minutes.
This expansion aligns with Atlys’ broader vision to create a more equitable travel ecosystem, making international travel accessible to everyone, regardless of passport strength. Beyond visa services, Atlys plans to evolve into a comprehensive platform for global travel solutions, including offerings such as eSIMs, Forex, travel insurance, and curated travel experiences.
Founded in 2021 by CEO Mohak Nahta, Atlys has processed over two million visas and has a presence in key global markets, including the US, UAE, and now the UK. The company has raised significant funding, including a USD 20 million Series B round in September 2024, co-led by Peak XV Partners and Elevation Capital, to support its growth and expansion plans.
With the global travel market projected to exceed USD 9 trillion by 2023 and international arrivals expected to reach 1.8 billion by 2030, Atlys is poised to play a crucial role in simplifying international travel.
