Kempegowda International Airport (BLR) has introduced an Aerial View Display (AVD) System to enhance airside efficiency and safety. This centralised digital platform provides real-time monitoring of flight movements, taxiing, and ground vehicles, ensuring seamless coordination. By simplifying tracking with flight numbers instead of ATC call signs, the system streamlines airport operations and improves decision-making.
The AVD System features a unified dashboard that displays live updates on aircraft positioning, runway occupancy, and emergency alerts. It also tracks ground vehicles to enhance coordination and reduce risks. With in-depth taxi time analysis, the system aims to improve on-time performance and minimize fuel consumption, contributing to operational efficiency and sustainability.
Bangalore International Airport Limited’s COO, Satyaki Raghunath, highlighted that the AVD System aligns with BLR Airport’s vision for innovation and excellence. By leveraging automation and real-time data, the airport enhances collaboration among stakeholders, reduces delays, and ensures a smoother experience for passengers. The system is expected to significantly optimise airside operations.
This initiative reinforces Bengaluru Airport’s leadership in technological advancements within the aviation industry. The AVD System not only boosts efficiency but also supports environmental sustainability by reducing emissions. As airports worldwide adopt smarter solutions, BLR continues to set new benchmarks in airside management and passenger service.
