For pilgrims attending the Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, a new helicopter service has been introduced to make travel to Triveni Sangam more convenient. Launched by the Uttar Pradesh Eco-Tourism Development Board in collaboration with Fly Ola, this service allows devotees to board a helicopter from Prayagraj Airport and land at a helipad near the Boat Club. From there, a boat ride takes them directly to the sacred Sangam for a holy dip. The return journey follows the same route, ensuring a hassle-free experience.
The helicopter package costs INR 35,000 per person, making it a premium travel option, especially beneficial for the elderly and differently-abled devotees who find long walks challenging. RS Sehgal, CEO of Fly Ola Group, emphasised that this service enables pilgrims to complete their visit within 4-5 hours without requiring a hotel stay. The initiative aims to provide a smooth, time-efficient pilgrimage for those who may have otherwise found the journey too difficult.
For visitors looking for a budget-friendly option, a joy ride priced at INR 1,200 is also available. This offers an aerial view of the Sangam, allowing pilgrims to witness the grandeur of the once-in-144-year event from the skies. This addition is expected to attract both domestic and international tourists, offering a unique perspective on one of the world’s largest religious gatherings.
The Maha Kumbh 2025, which began on January 13 and will continue until February 26, is set to welcome an estimated 450 million devotees over its 45-day span. With the introduction of aerial travel options, the pilgrimage experience is now more accessible, efficient, and memorable for millions of worshippers seeking spiritual salvation at the holy confluence.
