Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah reaffirmed the region’s commitment to reclaiming its status as a premier tourism destination. Speaking at the SATTE exhibition, he invited global travellers to explore J&K’s breathtaking landscapes, cultural heritage, and adventure opportunities. He emphasised that the region is moving beyond past challenges, ready to welcome visitors with open arms.
Highlighting the diverse attractions beyond iconic spots like Gulmarg and Vaishno Devi, Abdullah pointed to the growing appeal of lesser-known destinations such as Gurez, Bangus, and Doodhpathri. He also underscored the potential for adventure tourism, including rafting, skiing, and water sports. Heritage and border tourism are emerging as strong draws, with increased footfall in areas along the Line of Control.
With improved connectivity, including enhanced flight routes and upcoming rail links, J&K is becoming more accessible than ever. Abdullah positioned the region as a year-round destination suitable for leisure, pilgrimage, and business events. The push for wellness and sports tourism, including marathons, further cements J&K’s tourism revival.
Extending an open invitation, he urged travelers to rediscover the paradise on earth. “J&K is ready to host you,” he assured, promising unforgettable experiences for visitors seeking natural beauty, adventure, or cultural immersion.
