Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata has launched a paid concierge service to assist both domestic and international travellers. Inaugurated by Airport Director Dr. Pravat Ranjan Beuria, the service, named “Elite Assist,” aims to provide a seamless travel experience. It is designed to help passengers who may not be familiar with airport procedures, as well as elderly travellers and those needing special assistance.
Passengers can avail of the service for INR 500 per trip, which covers assistance with check-in, baggage handling, and guidance through the terminal. The service is managed by a private firm and ensures a hassle-free experience for those using the airport. Porters will be available to help with luggage, making the process smoother for travelers who require extra support.
This initiative enhances passenger convenience and aligns with global airport hospitality trends. With air travel steadily increasing, concierge services like these cater to premium travellers and those looking for added comfort. The authorities highlighted that such initiatives help improve the overall efficiency and experience at the airport.
By offering personalised assistance, Kolkata Airport aims to set a new benchmark in passenger services. The introduction of “Elite Assist” reflects the airport’s commitment to providing world-class facilities. As demand for air travel grows, such premium services are expected to become more popular across Indian airports.
