Despite the completion of the ‘amrit snans’, millions of devotees continue to visit the Maha Kumbh, boosting demand for hotels, lodges, and luxury cottages. On Tuesday, the footfall at Triveni Sangam crossed 55 crore, according to the UP government.
Following a dip in bookings after the January 29 stampede, hotel occupancy has surged, especially in the fairgrounds, where pre-bookings remain high beyond February 26. The city’s hospitality sector has seen a 20-30% growth, with profit margins up by 5-10%.
According to Harjinder Singh, President of the Prayagraj Hotels and Restaurant Welfare Association, demand for three- and four-star hotels, lodges, and luxury tents is soaring. As the Maha Kumbh attracts record crowds, the tourism and hospitality industry continues to thrive.
