Chief Minister Omar Abdullah visited the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Pavilion at OTM 2025, Asia’s largest travel trade show, held at Mumbai’s Jio World Convention Centre. The event, spanning from January 30 to February 1, brought together global exhibitors and buyers, offering a dynamic platform to showcase tourism opportunities. Jammu and Kashmir made a remarkable presence with 120 tourism trade and travel operators, emphasising the region’s rich cultural heritage and breathtaking landscapes.
During his visit, the Chief Minister engaged with stakeholders, including travel operators, artisans, and tourism officials, to understand their experiences and participation. He conducted a thorough inspection of the pavilion, appreciating the creative presentation of Jammu and Kashmir’s diverse tourism offerings. The showcase featured the region’s adventure tourism, handicrafts, and unique cultural experiences, reinforcing its appeal as a must-visit destination for travellers worldwide.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to tourism development, Omar Abdullah reaffirmed that tourism remains a top priority for his administration. He emphasised that participation in premier travel marts like OTM is crucial for positioning Jammu and Kashmir as a global tourism hotspot. He further directed the Tourism Department to maximise outreach efforts by actively engaging in national and international travel trade events to attract more visitors.
Accompanied by Advisor to CM Nasir Aslam Wani, Additional Chief Secretary Dheeraj Gupta, Director of Tourism Kashmir, and MD JKTDC, the Chief Minister assured continuous government support for the tourism industry. Stakeholders expressed optimism about the new collaborations formed at OTM 2025, which are expected to boost tourism and strengthen Jammu and Kashmir’s position on the global travel map.
