Air India recently organised it’s first-ever pan-India cricket tournament, the Air India Super League 2025 (AISL 2025). Some 48 travel agencies from across India participated in the Super League. The event was aimed at fostering greater partnership with travel agencies and OTAs, particularly their front line staffs. AISL is expected to be a calendar event with possibly greater industry participations happening in it’s future editions. AISL 2025 was co-sponsored by Amadeus, leading travel technology service provider.
All the participating teams competed in regional round robin matches in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Chennai with the two finalists Team Travel High Titans (Travel High Pvt. Ltd) and Tripjack Warriors (Tripjack Pvt. Ltd.) playing the final in New Delhi. The Titans emerging the eventual winner of the first edition of AISL. The finale also recognised the top team from each of the four cities. It also gave away an array of trophies and medals in recognition of outstanding performances across categories such as Man of the Match, Player of AISL 2025, Best Fielder, Most Catches, to name a few.
Thanking the travel industry partners from across India for their enthusiastic participation, Chief Commercial & Transformation Officer, Nipun Aggarwal, while speaking on the occasion, said, “This is the first Air India Super League that we have organised and we are very glad to see this wonderful participation from all our travel partners.”
AISL, he informed, was developed from similar cricketing engagement that Air India was organizing in Mumbai earlier. “We thought that why don’t we take the event pan-India so that we have the opportunity to connect with our travel partners at the front line staff level all over the country. I am glad that the event has come to reality. We hope to make this an annual event.”
The event was also telecast on YouTube and various other social media platforms. Air India is in the midst of major transformation in order to modernaise and upgrade its fleet. It’s order book boasts of nearly 670 new aircrafts with Boeing and Airbus as the airline aspires to become a leading international air carrier in the coming years.
