Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) reported its most successful year ever in 2024, welcoming a record-breaking 1.28 million overnight arrivals. This milestone reflects a 12% increase in tourism revenues and a 15% rise in MICE visitors. The Emirate’s ambitious vision aims to attract over 3.5 million annual visitors by 2030 through strategic growth, sustainable initiatives, and world-class attractions.
Raki Phillips, CEO highlighted the Emirate’s commitment to sustainability, enhanced connectivity, and diverse experiences. Key achievements in 2024 include the launch of new hotels like Sofitel Al Hamra Beach Resort and Anantara Mina Al Arab Resort, the expansion of international flight routes, and an impressive lineup of events such as the Ras Al Khaimah Half Marathon and the Global Citizen Forum. The Emirate also set two GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS with its spectacular New Year’s Eve fireworks and drone display.
Strengthening its position as a global tourism hub, RAKTDA introduced direct flights from key markets, including Russia, India, and China. The Emirate’s focus on sustainability was recognised at the Forbes Middle East Sustainability Leaders’ Summit, reinforcing its leadership in responsible tourism. Additionally, the introduction of an Emirati Hospitality Programme supports nationalisation efforts and prepares local talent for leadership roles in the industry.
