Thomas Cook (India) Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Georgia National Tourism Administration (GNTA) to boost Indian tourism to Georgia. This collaboration aims to create strong awareness, inspire demand, and increase visitations by highlighting Georgia’s unique attractions, ease of access, and affordability. The agreement is part of Thomas Cook India’s strategy to promote emerging destinations with simplified visa processes, catering to Indian travellers seeking new experiences.
The partnership focuses on four key areas: promoting Georgia’s tourism potential in India, developing engaging content to attract travellers, expanding MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism, and executing joint marketing initiatives. Rajeev Kale, President & Country Head – Holidays, MICE, Visa at Thomas Cook India, emphasised Georgia’s diverse appeal, including Tbilisi’s historic charm, the Caucasus Mountains, ancient cave cities, and an 8,000-year-old wine culture. He highlighted the company’s strategy to target millennials, families, couples, solo travellers, and corporate groups through awareness campaigns, familiarisation trips, and promotional activities across metros, mini-metros, and Tier 2 & 3 cities in India.
Maia Omiadze, Head of GNTA, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, noting that 124,335 Indian tourists visited Georgia in 2024, marking a 46.8% increase from the previous year. She highlighted the strong presence of GNTA at OTM 2025 in Mumbai, where a delegation of 45 companies actively engaged with Indian travel industry leaders. The partnership with Thomas Cook India is expected to further strengthen Georgia’s visibility and attract more Indian visitors through customised travel experiences.
With India emerging as a key market for global tourism, this collaboration between Thomas Cook India and GNTA aims to position Georgia as a top travel destination for Indian tourists. By leveraging joint marketing efforts, industry partnerships, and targeted promotions, the initiative is set to drive significant growth in Indian arrivals, reinforcing Georgia’s status as a must-visit destination in the international tourism landscape.
