The Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden in Srinagar played a significant role in drawing visitors. In 2023 alone, it recorded 3.65 lakh tourists, including 3,000 foreign nationals, during its one-month bloom. This record-breaking footfall reflects the increasing interest in Kashmir’s natural beauty and seasonal attractions, making it a prime destination for both domestic and global tourists.
The growth trend continued in 2024, with tourist arrivals reaching 2.36 crore, surpassing previous records. The influx of visitors has strengthened various sectors, including hospitality, transport, and local handicrafts. The region’s rich cultural heritage, adventure tourism, and religious sites further contribute to its popularity, ensuring a year-round flow of tourists.
