The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has extended its visa-on-arrival facility to Indian passport holders with residence permits or valid visas from six additional countries—Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. This expansion is expected to ease travel for Indian nationals and enhance UAE’s position as a global travel hub.
Previously, this facility was available only to Indian citizens holding valid visas or residence permits from the United States, the United Kingdom, and European Union member states. With the latest update, more Indian travelers can now access UAE entry points through a simplified visa process.
Eligibility and Requirements
To qualify for the visa-on-arrival, Indian travellers must:
- Hold a passport valid for at least six months
- Possess a valid visa, residence permit, or Green Card from one of the eligible countries
Visa Categories and Fees
The UAE offers three visa options under this program:
- 4-day visa: AED 100
- 14-day extension: AED 250
- 60-day visa: AED 250
- This initiative is aimed at simplifying travel for Indian citizens and creating new opportunities for tourism, residency, and employment in the UAE.
Other UAE Visa Options for Indian Travellers
Apart from visa-on-arrival, Indian passport holders can also apply for:
- Single-entry tourist visas (valid for 30 or 60 days)
- Multiple-entry tourist visas (valid for 30 or 60 days)
- Long-term multiple-entry tourist visas (valid for five years)
- Transit visas (48-hour and 96-hour options)
- Additionally, residents of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries remain eligible for visa-free entry.
With this latest update, the UAE is set to welcome a larger number of Indian travelers, further strengthening its role as a leading destination for tourism and business.
