Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted an aerial survey of Kashi on Saturday to assess the massive influx of pilgrims. Due to heavy crowding, he modified his schedule, opting to visit Kashi Vishwanath temple via the Ganga route instead of Kaal Bhairav temple. Pilgrim numbers reached 8.26 lakh on Thursday, with similarly large crowds persisting over the weekend.
To manage the influx, authorities extended school closures, halted Ganga Aartis until February 26, and tightened traffic restrictions. The CM reached Namo Ghat, took a cruise to Kashi Vishwanath temple, and greeted devotees along the way. After offering prayers, he interacted with children before inaugurating the Kashi Tamil Sangamam. Officials continue enforcing strict crowd control measures, including restrictions on boat operations after 6 pm.
